The Directors
Sara Proodian is in her fourth year at Paetow HS and her twenty fifth in Katy ISD! Prior to coming to PHS, Mrs. Proodian opened Stockdick Jr. High. Mrs. Proodian spent five years at James E. Taylor HS where she was the Associate Director of Choral Activities. Responsible for the JV Men, Varsity Women, JV Women, The Annual Madrigal Dinner, Solo and Ensemble as well as the spring trip, she was very busy! Before Taylor HS, Mrs. Proodian opened Morton Ranch Jr. High where she served as the Head Choir Director, the Fine Arts Department Chair, a member of the CAT team and the Principal's Leadership Team. Mrs. Proodian received the Teacher of the Year award for the 2010-2011 school year. She is a graduate of Houston's High School for the Performing and Visual Arts with an emphasis on Vocal Performance. Mrs. Proodian received her bachelor’s degree in Music Education with Choral Conducting from Texas Tech University.
In twenty-eight years of teaching, Mrs. Proodian has amassed a wide variety of experience with different levels and types of performing ensembles including Madrigals, Opera and Musical Productions, as well as time spent in the HSPVA Hand Bell Choir! Mrs. Proodian is a member of TSTA, TCDA, TMEA and TMAA. In her spare time, she is a member of the chorus and board of The Ken Davis Chorale. She has been married to her wonderful husband, Tim for twenty-eight years. Together they have two very busy and amazing children. Christopher is an engineer with McCarthy Construction, a proud graduate of Tech University as well as Taylor HS here in Katy where he was in Choir, Expressions as well as a PAC Tech. Connor is a senior Texas Tech studying Economics and Finance. Connor is a graduate of Katy HS where he was in Choir, Vocal Ensemble and played football. |
Roland Rodriguez is excited to begin his first year as Assistant Choir Director at Paetow High School. He is currently in his seventh year teaching after serving as the Assistant Choir Director at Salyards Middle School in CFISD. A proud graduate of Jersey Village High School in CFISD, Mr.Rodriguez holds a Bachelor's of Music degree from Stephen F. Austin State University.
Choirs under his direction have received multiple UIL sweepstakes as well as superior ratings and best in class awards at festivals. He had the honor of conducting the Salyards Varsity Treble Chorale at the TMEA 2024 Convention. Mr. Rodriguez believes that music education has played a pivotal role in his life and finds great value in inspiring his students through music. Residing in Houston, he shares his life with his lovely wife, Julie Rodriguez, and their two pugs. |
